STAYING STRONG

“ LISTEN O’ISRAEL! THE IS OUR GOD THE LORD ALONE. AND YOU MUST LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ALL YOUR SOUL, AND ALL YOUR STRENGTH. AND YOU MUST COMMIT YOURSELVES WHOLEHEARTEDLY TO THESE COMMANDS THAT I AM GIVING YOU TODAY. REPEAT THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN TO YOUR CHILDREN. TALK ABOUT THEM WHEN YOU ARE AT HOME AND WHEN YOU ARE ON THE ROAD, WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO BED AND WHEN YOU ARE GETTING UP. TIE THEM YOU YOUR HANDS AND WEAR THEM ON YOUR FOREHEAD AS REMINDERS. WRITE THEM ON THE DOORPOSTS OF YOUR HOUSE AND ON YOUR GATES.” DEUTERONOMY 6: 4-9

Our God in heaven is the same yesterday, today and forever. Our God never changes. His Word is the most important thing in our lives because it helps us to create the faith we need in order to believe in him and his mighty promises. If we don’t have faith then it is replaced by fear. Fear, of course, is of the devil and not of God. We must understand that fear and faith cannot live together. Where there is fear there is no faith. Where there is faith it scares the fear away. We are reminded in Deuteronomy that we are to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul and strength. We are to WHOLEHEARTEDLY, commit ourselves to the commands of our Lord God in heaven. We are to talk about the ways of God all of the time. We should have God’s commands on our minds and in our conversations while at home, at work, in the morning and at night. We should make sure our children are blessed with these commands as well. Our God recognizes that we need him in our lives everyday and all day. He knows that devil and his demons will not leave us alone. So, he has given us the tools we need to keep the evil one away. He has given us the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We must, however, remember to use the name of Jesus, listen to the Holy Spirit and use the faith that we have built to fight off the enemy. The Lord loves us very much but we have to do our part. We have go all in for Jesus. There is no in between. Remember, faith and fear cannot live together.
