THE DIRECTION OF YOUR TONGUE

STOP BEING ANGRY! TURN FROM YOUR RAGE! DO NOT LOSE YOUR TEMPER IT ONLY LEADS TO HARM.” PSALM 37:8

WATCH YOUR TONGUE AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT, AND YOU WILL STAY OUT OF TROUBLE.” PROVERBS 21:23

Controlling our tongues is one of the hardest things we have to do. I know I have had a hard time with this issue. I sometimes lose my temper when, instead, I should be walking away from the situation. I should be putting my focus on Jesus and not my raging anger. Losing our tempers and saying things we don’t mean can destroy relationships. The devil is doing nothing short of trying to destroy and separate relationships. He continues to test us each day with roadblocks in our lives that can create disruptive and destructive situations. These situations can cause us to fall into the temptation of becoming angry and saying things we should not say. If the words that are coming out of our mouths are not building someone up, then we should say nothing. We should walk away and pray that we handle the situation in the way the Lord wants us to handle it. The words that we speak come from the heart. What are we allowing ourselves to accept? Are we accepting the things of this world or are we accepting the ways of Jesus? We are all a work in progress. God’s forgiveness is everlasting if we are truthfully sorry and repent. Our God in heaven loves us, forgives us and has given us the Holy Spirit to guide and help us along the way. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!
