” SO PETER WENT OVER THE SIDE OF THE BOAT AND WALKED ON THE WATER TOWARD JESUS. BUT WHEN HE SAW THE STRONG WIND AND WAVES, HE WAS TERRIFIED AND BEGAN TO SINK.” MATTHEW 14: 29-30
How many times have you and I been walking on the water of faith and then suddenly we take our focus from Jesus and place it on the terrible things happening around us. We then begin to sink in our troubles and the struggles and problems around us begin to overcome us. Peter was walking on the water because he was trusting in Jesus. His actions were showing that with complete trust in the Lord we can do anything within his will. However, the moment Peter’s focus changed he began to sink. Each day we face worldly struggles of our own. It is important that our faith stay strong and that we trust our Lord to take care of us. If we stay focused on our Lord, our struggles will be as nothing. But if we continually focus on the things around us, we will only be throwing fuel on the fire and the flames of our problems will only become larger and larger. We must train ourselves to trust Jesus in our lives. It doesn’t matter how large or small our problems look to us if we keep our eyes on Jesus and trust in his ways, we will be overcomers. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!
