BE GENTLE

Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change these people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:25

Jesus was gentle. He was loving and caring in all that did, yet he was firm with the truth. We are to pattern ourselves, our words, and our actions after our Savior. We are to know his word, tell his word and display his way of life. He did not run around as though he was out of control. Jesus was always in control. He was wise and knew what to say before he said it. You and I are to be the same. We should pray and ask for his help. We should ask for his wisdom and his understanding. He will give it freely and we should accept it and take time to digest it before we speak. When dealing with others it is important that we know the situation and exactly what we are dealing with before we step in. We must be prepared with God’s word and his protection, power and strength. Without him by our side we will fail. We should remember the 7 sons of Sceva. They attempted to exercise a demon from a man in the town of Ephesus by using the name of Jesus by invocation. Instead of the demon leaving the man they are overcome, beat up and forced to leave the house naked. They were not prepared. They thought that all they needed was the method and the name of Jesus, instead of having the use of the spiritual power of God. Let us all be wise and prayed up. Jesus loves us and we are to love and represent him. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
