CONSTRUCTING OUR FAITH

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.” Psalm 23:4

Most of us are very familiar with the 23rd Psalm. We hear it a lot at funerals. It gives us comfort in our time of sorrow and sadness. However, this Psalm is not just for our sorrow and our sadness. It is also for us in our times of fear, stress, anger, and failure. It provides the security in all of our times of need and reminds us that our Lord is beside us. He is leading us and will never let us down. It also helps us to build upon our faith. It is a promise, a security blanket, and gives us a sense of strength in our lives. It allows us to walk through times that we would otherwise not be able to do. It provides us the opportunity to trust in God and his Word. You and I are not perfect, no matter how hard we try, and we are not strong. But with the promises God provides through his scriptures we are able to faithfully follow and trust in his perfection and strength. We can do all things through Christ who provides us strength. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. Each time we read from scripture we are building our faith. Each time we pray we are building our faith. Each time we praise our God in heaven we are building our faith. We are surrounded by strength, love and wisdom and knowledge. Let us all have the faith to grasp onto it and never let go! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!
