“Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen the more understanding you will be given, and you will receive even more.” Mark 4:24
Romans 10:17 tells us that “ Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” This scripture gives us knowledge on how faith is received. We receive faith by reading, listening to, and meditating upon God’s Word. When we read or listen to the Word of God we are to be focused and not let the outside world in. We are to be careful to read his word in a very methodical and uninterrupted way. We are to concentrate on every word he gives us and not allow interruptions to take place. I have found that I need to set aside time early in the morning when there are no distractions. It is just the Lord and me. I pray and praise him and read his Word very carefully. I take notes and make use of every word he gives me. I have the time and take the time to just concentrate on him and nothing else. Early in the morning is the time that I write his words down that allow this blog to be written. When we dedicate our lives to him, we are to do just that. He becomes the center of our lives and nothing else. We look to him for the answers to any problem we may confront. I like to compare my morning visits with the Lord like filling my car with gas in preparation for a long road trip. My body and spirit need rejuvenating and recharged. It prepares me for each day, and I am able to begin with joy and peace and not confusion or anger. Our Lord Jesus should be our life. He should be the center of all of our attention and focus. When he is our focus, our lives become so much more fulfilled, and we are the testimonies to others we are to be. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
