” I tell you the truth, Jesus said, this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is has given everything she has.” Luke 21:3-4
Have you given everything you have to God? Have you dedicated your time, your strength and your wisdom to his work? Is he your primary source of all things that you have gained in this life on earth? Sometimes the efforts we make are not enough. It takes outside circumstances to show us just how much we need our God in heaven. It may take a disaster in our life to make us step back and realize that we have not done enough. Our God in heaven is able and willing to help each and every one of us. We must, however, be willing to sacrifice for him. We must be willing to put everything we have gained in this life on the line for him. We must get ourselves to the point of no return. When we join our God’s army, we are be “all in”. When I entered the Air Force many years ago, I dedicated my life to what was before me. It was a life of military service, and it was strange to me. I had no choice but to be all in. The military would not stand for me being there just some of the time. I was commanded and told what to do and what not to do. There were my ways of doing things and there were their ways of doing things. I had to change my attitude and do as I was told. I remember that when I first got to basic training, I was issued military garb. On the very first day of training, our unit was commanded to take our civilian clothing and use them to clean the latrine. We were told that from that moment forward the military was our life. We had to give up what little we had in that civilian clothing by letting it be used for a menial purpose and then be disposed of. The only difference in military life in this world and joining God’s army is that He gives us a choice. What we must remember is that we must give it all when we join. When we accept Christ Jesus we must change clothing, change our attitude and change our thinking and speaking. We must not leave anything on the table. The old must be destroyed and the new uniform put on. We are to represent Jesus with honor and never be ashamed. We must believe and dedicate our life to what is unseen. Jesus is Lord and he is our savior, healer and forgiver. Our pay, for giving things on this earth back to the world, is eternal life with Him! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
