TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters- a pathway no one knew was there.” Psalm 77:19
TODAY’S MESSAGE: Yesterday is over and there is nothing more we can do about it. It is time to look to the future and live in the now. As the Israelites were led out of Egypt, they were not to look back, but instead they were to look to the future. They were headed for the promised land but not without struggles along the way. To them their future became unsure as they began to doubt Moses and God himself, and because of that doubt, they began to look to the past and began to think they had had it better in Egypt than in their current journey of freedom. They would return to their ways of the ungodly. They were on again, off again. They would promise one thing and then become impatient and return to their old ways. We are not different. Our journey too, brings struggles with it. We must climb mountains, go through dry and unstable times, lift boulders out of our way and push through the dense fog, but we are not to look back. We are to focus on what is in front of us. We are to depend upon our Lord. We are not to become impatient and begin to doubt, but instead we are to remember where the Lord is taking us. Just as in the days of the Israelites we are being followed by the evil we once knew. We are not, however, to return to our past and forget about God. Our trust and faith in our Lord and Savior will get us to where we are going. It is a journey of patience and trust. It is a journey that takes us through times of troubles so that we can learn and gain more experience. We may not always agree but who are we to question our God in heaven. It is time to look to tomorrow and not to look back at yesterday. Everlasting life is on the horizon let’s not lose it by looking back. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
