TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “Remember, it is a sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” James 4:17
TODAY’S MESSAGE: We are to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. God has sent His presence to live within us. He is there to guide us and direct us. He knows just where we are to go and what we are to do. Our human nature will sometimes take us in a different direction than the desires of the Lord. When we know that doing something is wrong but still do it, it is a sin. When we know we ought to do something, and don’t do it, it is also a sin. It is vital to our Christian lives to be able to know right from wrong. When we read and study the bible we learn and understand the ways of God. We know how he wants us to act, speak and live our lives. We learn his nature and begin to desire for our own lives to be like his. However, sometimes the world gets in our way. Sometimes we let our own human desires take over our thoughts and words, and our wants and desires. It is in these moments that we need to stop and ask God to intervene. It is time to let him revive us and restore our thoughts and desires. We live in a world that thinks differently and demands things that are just the opposite of our God in heaven. Because we live with these worldly ideas’ day in and day out, we sometime falter. When we do, we should get on our knees and ask for forgiveness. We must recognize that when we are in these situations we are living in sin. It is through the gentle touch of the Holy Spirit that we will recognize what we are to do. It is important that we follow the leading! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
