TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “You are coming to Christ who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple.” 1 Peter 2:4
” And you are the living stones God is building into his spiritual temple.” 1 Peter 2:5
TODAY’S MESSAGE: The definition of a cornerstone is the core around which everything else takes shape. It is a stone that forms a part of the corner or angle of a wall. It is the beginning of the foundation of the wall. The purpose of a cornerstone is to keep two walls together and prevent the building from falling apart. In our life as a “born-again Christian,” Jesus is defined as our cornerstone. Faith in him is the foundation for all believers. He is the foundation of our views and our standard for living. He is the cement that keeps us from falling apart when we go through terrible storms, and he is what keeps us in line when the world begins to attack us. Jesus is the cornerstone who defines our existence, just as a worldly cornerstone defines the existence of the stones built upon it. We must be like Jesus. We cannot be a pebble laid upon the building blocks, as we would not be able to withstand the pressures. We must be strong and have a faith that is unwavering. We as individuals help God to create his living temple. We are his blocks that help his temple to take shape. We are the blocks that others see and the blocks that show trust, faith and strength. It is this temple, made of strong believers, that our God is building to help others to become a part of his family and to obtain eternal life. Let us never fall from where we are in our lives. We are a living stone, put in our place, with a purpose and a reason for being where we are. JESUS IS LORD! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
