TODAY’S SCRIPTURE’S: ” But all they gave him was lip service; they lied to him with their tongues. Their hearts were not loyal to him. They did not keep his covenant.” Psalm 78:36-37
“And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” 2 Peter 1:4
TODAY’S MESSAGE: It takes great effort and dedication to be able to live a life that shows how we have accepted and trust our Lord God in heaven. There is more to our relationship with our God than standing and giving him lip service as his children did in the wilderness. They would give him their promises, and then, at the first sign if things not going their way, they would go back to their old ways. It is not much different today. There are so many who give lip service to our God but nothing else. They may be faithful in church attendance but, as soon as they walk through the church doors and back into the world, they quickly change back to the world. Their daily lives are lived so that no one can see a change or an attitude of a spiritual difference. We must remember that knowing God is more than knowing of God. The demons know of God. They know about him, and they do just the opposite of what he desires. For those who do not truly know God their actions also reflect the opposite of what He desires. We must develop a strong trust and faith in our Lord. Accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior is the beginning to our journey. As we become saved it is important that we make every effort to respond to the Lord’s promises. As 2 Peter 1: 5-7 states, “Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly love, and brotherly love with love for everyone.” To do these things we must be close to God and stay close to God. This is accomplished through prayer and meditation in God’s word. We must keep Him on our minds at all times allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. We must be dedicated to our Lord without any hesitation. We must obtain and thrive to keep a dedication to our Lord like no other dedication we have had in the past. We must shine with the brightness of our Lord and never hesitate to do so! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
