DEFEATING THE GREAT SEPARATION!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Psalm 66:4 ————– ” This is good and pleases God our Savior, for he wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth, for there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and people. He is the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.” 1 Timothy 2: 3-6

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Just what is the Great Separation? It is the great divide between our God in heaven and his children upon this earth. It is God’s desire that not one person be left behind to burn in hell. It is his desire that all will accept Jesus and have eternal life. This, however, will not be the case. We know by the scriptures the fate of this world, and that there will be those who reject his offer of eternal life. There are people who will go about their daily routines never giving thought to the one who offered his life in order to purchase them with his blood. They will go about their lives with the idea they are in charge and that nothing can stop them. After all, they are totally in charge of their own lives. What can possibly go wrong? They first need to understand that they are no match for the devil of this world. He will crush them with the slight of his hand and take them to hell with him. He is the great deceiver and will deceive as many as possible. The bible tells us that even some of the elect will be deceived in the end days. God has given us each a free will. He did this so that you and I would come to him voluntarily, making our own decision to do so, and not because he is demanding us to make that choice. Just as you and I go to the store to purchase items, Jesus went to the cross to purchase you and me. His death gives us a chance to close the great separation in our own lives and follow him. It is our responsibility, while we continue to be a part of this world, to present to others the message of Jesus. We are not to push his message down their throats but instead present it in the way God wants the message presented. We are to live our lives that show his tenderness, love and patience for others. We are to be prepared to answer questions when asked about our faith. We should be prayerful and praise our God every day in order to be prepared to take on the devil and the world in general. The desire of our Lord God is to save as many in this world as possible. There is no evil too large that God will not forgive, if a person will just commit to Jesus. JOYOUS OPPORTUNITIES!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested your endurance has a chance to grow.” James 1:2-3

TODAY’S MESSAGE: We are told to be joyful in our troubled times. We are to love those who hate us and be patient with those who oppose us. Just what does it mean when the bible tells us that troubled times are opportunities for joy. Just what does it mean to be joyful? Joy is a condition of life. It does not come and go as happiness does. Instead, we live in joy. Joy has a way of transcending us. There is no happiness in troubles, but joy can share the same space with troubled times. Joy is a way of life. It is a way that we conduct ourselves at all times. When we are attacked by evil our joy can be what helps us to overcome. Joy has nothing to do with happiness but instead can be described as a sacrifice in our lives. Joy leads us into the fight with problems and helps us to overcome. Every time troubles appear in our lives; we have a chance to show case our joy and how we live our lives. Jesus wasn’t happy all of the time. However, he lived in joy. He was loving toward all; he was patient with the those who were not patient and he cared for the needs of all. He may have been unhappy about the way others were persecuting him, but joy gave him the ability to still love them and pray to God for them. You and I are no different. Joy will always be with us. It becomes a part of us and becomes our way of living among others. It allows us to at times be dissatisfied with others and at the same time continue to love them and pray for them. As happiness comes and goes, joy is with us always. Let us all have joy, live joy and provide joy to others. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

SEE OTHERS THROUGH THE EYES OF JESUS!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5 ——-“never get tired of doing good.” 2 Thessalonians 3:13

TODAY’S MESSAGE: It is sometimes very difficult to maneuver through this world with a kind heart and a message of love and peace. The world itself does not allow for that and therefore, makes it difficult to live our lives with the kindness of our Lord and Savior Jesus. As we travel through God’s word, we begin see and we can reflect upon the ways of Christ. We can see the way his journey took place and just how he walked and maneuvered his way through the world during his 33 years on this earth. We are able to see the compassion he had for others. We can see the spirit of love he had for those around him. We can see the power of the peace he generated to others when he was around. We can make our travels on this earth much like those of Jesus, if we just remember to put into action his ways when we deal with things of this world. We must be willing to stand out and be noticed, as his ways are a direct opposite of the ways of the world. We must be willing to be compassionate to those who need it even if it means harm to us. We must be able to love others when their love toward us is hatred. When we live our lives through the eyes of Jesus we see things differently. We begin to have compassion and begin to understand how he loved even those who were putting him to death. We can begin to see how he showed compassion to the sick and gave out love to all with whom he came in contact. If we remember how Jesus lived his life and begin to see things through his eyes, then our lives will begin to evolve into the way our God in heaven wants us to represent him. We must dive into his Holy Word each day and soak up as many of his ways as we can. When we do, we are given the opportunity live our lives as Jesus lived his. JESUS IS LORD! Who are the biggest influences in your life?

OUR BODY BUT GOD’S INSTRUMENT

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him.” Psalm 24:1

TODAY’S MESSAGE: The Lord our God is the creator and the ruler of the universe. There is nothing that is not his and nothing that anything or anyone can take control over without his permission. Our God created the sky, the clouds, the oceans and the seas. He is the controller over the animals of the desert and the fish of the sea. He made the mountains, the birds, the grass and all the animals of the world. He is the creator, the Savior and the Lord over you and me. We are made in the image of our God. We are to be like him and live as he does. However, there was an uprising in the heavens at which point the devil was thrown to the earth and became overseer and deceiver of the world we live in. He can, however, do nothing to us without our consent. It is when we live in weakness that the devil and his army rule us and take over our thoughts and deeds. It is when we neglect our Lord God in heaven or even pay no attention to him at all, that we allow the evil one to access our bodies and use them against us and our God in heaven. However, we truly belong to our saving God. We are his instruments and are to follow his ways and not ours or those of the devil himself. Through the death of Jesus on that cross, we are able to know our Lord on a personal level and are able to walk and talk with him at will. It is through the sacrifice of God’s Son that you and I have a chance to live a life deserving of eternal life in heaven. We must remember that when we follow the ways of Jesus, we are instruments of our God and belong to him and not ourselves. It is his choices, his desires and his ways that we are to follow and not any other. It is he, through the Holy Spirit, that directs our ways and our words. It is through prayer, faith, trust and repentance of our sins that we are able to follow him in his ways. We must focus on our faith and not on the world. We must continue our trip down his pathway and not our own. This world belongs to our God in heaven, and he will one day retake possession and make it even better than when he first created it. We are instruments of our God and must work hard to follow his commands for our lives. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

DON’T STOP. INSTEAD KEEP ON MOVING!

TODAYS SCRIPTURE: “So, we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11

TODAY’S MESSAGE: The message in the hearts of many today is that our Lord is returning soon. I too believe that our time is short on this earth. However, just because we believe the time is short should not give us a sense of relaxation. Instead, we should be instilled with the idea that our ministries must begin to move with great force and that we must begin to run and not walk. Time is of the essence. The eternal lives of those around us may depend on how fast you and I run. How quickly can we get the message of Jesus Christ to others is the most important event that can take place in our lives. Our goal each day should be to live our lives as though this were the last opportunity we have to spread the gospel of Jesus. The reality is that it may be the last chance! When the Lord does return to take home his children the opportunity of grace is over. The chance to accept the deal that our God has given to us is no longer available to those who are lost. It is so vital that we should not waste time but that we keep moving and not be deterred by anything or anyone. We are to keep on moving and not stop! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

THE GREAT RENEWAL!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “Though our bodies are dying our spirits are being renewed every day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16

TODAY’S MESSAGE: As we get older, we begin to see changes in our physical bodies. We see wrinkles begin to show, alertness begins to wane, energy levels begin to slow down, and we become less alert as we get to certain ages. We begin to notice commercials about vitamins and other products that are on sale to make us healthier, more energetic, and even some that will make our wrinkles to go away. It is truly beyond our control that our bodies change as we get older. That is the way our Lord created us. There is no fountain of youth. There is no surgery that can help us to become young again. The reality is that our bodies die a little each day and there is nothing we can do about it. However, the good news is that we are spirits that have been given this body. Because we are spirit beings the Lord tells us that our spirits are renewed every day. Each day that we live, our spirits are given new life and renewed with greater spiritual growth. We are given opportunities to become closer to our Lord in the ways that we live and the things we do. We are given more opportunities to affect others in the way only Christ Jesus would desire of us. We are given the opportunity to practice forgiving others. We are to allow the Holy Spirit to direct us in our ways and we must continue to learn how to follow Him. We are to patient, loving and caring to those around us. Because our spirits are renewed each day, we can rejoice in our daily lives knowing that when our time is finished on this earth we will be going to our eternal home in heaven. Our life here on this earth is just the beginning and not the end. The renewing of our spirits is important so that we can continue to function no matter what our earthly bodies look like. We belong to our King in heaven! We must rejoice and be glad for everything he has provided to us! We are Spirit Beings and our Lord renews our spirits daily! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

When are you most happy?

YES, WE ARE QUALIFIED!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “Our qualifications come from God.” 2 Corinthians 3:5 —– “Because of your faith it will happen.” Matthew 9:29

TODAY’S MESSAGE: ” In a time when strange things are happening, and our minds are tested, we must continue to keep on the narrow path. There are things in this world that are twisting our minds in one direction and then another. It is sometimes difficult to determine what is right from wrong and what is real and from unreal. The world is filled, with not only what is evil, but also is filled with what looks like Sugar plums and Lolly pops. We see things in tempting manners and want to follow them because they look so good. It is important that we look back at the history of our world and see that it is a complete failure. It is going to change soon and we as Christians want to be a part of that change. As humans it is very easy to struggle along our journey. We fail, we fall, and we do things that we should not. We sometimes become complacent in our journeys with Jesus. We let down by slacking off of our bible studies, not reading the Word as often as we should and not living our lives with faith and the strength of God. However, our God has made us higher than the average sinner. We are followers of our one and only Christ Jesus. It is our God in heaven who qualifies us for the job he has given us. It is He who gives us strength. It is He who gives us hope in our times of need. It is He who gives us joy when we are in a state of sadness. It is He who picks us up when we fall, and it is He who has given us the pathway to salvation. It is He who forgives our sins when we repent and ask for forgiveness and then wipes them out of existence. We cannot allow the world to dictate our ways, our direction and our beliefs. It is Jesus we must trust in. It is Jesus we must continue to have faith in. Yes, we are qualified to be a follower of Jesus. God has given us that opportunity. We can never let the devil steal that away from us. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

I AM TRUSTING HIM!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “Human plans, no matter how wise or well advised, cannot stand against the Lord.” Proverbs 21:30 —– ” But, of course, you know that such troubles are going to happen to us Christians.” 1 Thessalonians 3:3 —– ” I was afraid the tempter had gotten the best of you and that our work had been useless.” 1 Thessalonians 3:5

TODAY’S MESSAGE: As we continue to work hard at living a life representing Jesus, there are forces that will continue to come against us because of our efforts as followers of Christ. These forces will throw problems and unexpected troubles our way and expect us to fall at their command. However, we are to follow our Lord Jesus. There is no greater force than our Lord. There is nothing that comes against us that we cannot handle if we are following Jesus. It doesn’t matter the size of the problem or even how well planned it is; we have been totally prepared for every circumstance by our Lord God in heaven. We have been trained to live a life of faith. When our faith stands up the evil runs away. When we use our faith in the name of Jesus there is no thing that will be able to resist us. However, as humans we are sometime very vulnerable to the enemy. We, at times, will forget that we have a great reviver in God. We forget that He is able to resist all the enemy can and will throw our way. When troubles come, we wilt and allow the devil to spread his fears upon us. We go about our days living in sadness or fear of what could be next. Our lives are no longer representing the strength of Jesus but instead the weakness of our own humanness. We are living outside the will of God. We must keep ourselves protected by His great insurance policy that we have received from the death of our Lord Jesus on that cross. He has given us his Holy Word to read and digest daily. He has given us the name of Jesus for prayer and communication with our Lord God in heaven. He has given us faith to believe all of the actions our God will take on our behalf when we find ourselves in worldly situations. We must keep up the faith and never allow ourselves to become susceptible to the world around us. If we trust in Him, we will be able to live strong and happy lives even through the toughest of times. I am trusting Him! I hope you are doing the same! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

DON’T BECOME FOOLED, AS WE ARE ALL IMPERFECT!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “PETER DECLARED,’ EVEN IF EVERYONE ELSE DESERTS YOU, I NEVER WILL.’ ” MATTHEW 26:23 —– ” KEEP ALERT AND PRAY. OTHERWISE, TEMPTATION WILL OVERPOWER YOU. FOR THOUGH THE SPIRIT IS WILLING ENOUGH, THE BODY IS WEAK.” MATTHEW 26:41

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Sometimes when we follow Jesus, we try to become too perfect in our walk. We try to do things that we are unable to do as humans. We believe ourselves to be perfect when in reality we are not and never will be perfect while we live on this earth. I have found myself in this boat. While I am to strive to be the perfect follower, I must recognize that I am a human who was born a sinner, and just because I have accepted Jesus, doesn’t mean that I will not occasionally fall flat on my face by making mistakes in my life. I sometimes forget, but must always remember, that is why Jesus died on the cross. He took the sins that I commit, the mistakes that occur in my life, to the cross with him and died for each. All I must do is remember to go directly to him to repent and ask for forgiveness. We must all be cautious as the devil tries to use the goodness of our God and turn it around for his benefit. We have to continue to watch and pray as we are instructed to do and be careful in our actions as we continue to follow God’s ways. It is our duty to strive to be perfect in our lives. We are to do our best in our efforts to do good and live our lives with love, forgiveness and compassion for others. But we must also remember that we will falter at times. However, our Lord thoroughly understands our humanness, and because of our earthly tendencies to sin, he gave his son Jesus Christ to die for all of our missteps and failures. We must not feel that if we make a mistake in our life that we are not going to get to heaven. We instead, must remember that when we fall, Jesus is there to pick us up and make us right. A WORLD FILLED WITH FEAR!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor fear the dangers of the day, nor dread the plague that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.” Psalm 91:5-6 —– ” No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your dwelling. For He orders his angels to protect you wherever you go.” Psalm 91:10-11

TODAY’S MESSAGE: We live in a world filled with fear. The devil himself is running rampant doing as much evil as he can. He understands full well that his time is short, and his time for doing what he pleases on this earth is quickly running out. At every turn he is throwing fear in our paths as we try to live our lives. There is fear of death, fear of sickness and disease, fear of accidents and fear of lies that don’t really exist. At every corner he is doing something different to make us fear even more. There are wars and rumors of war that make the human heart faint away. There is fear of the night skies that now have unidentifiable flying objects called drones flying around in the dozens. There is fear of failure at our jobs and fear of failing our families. We live in a world of fear. Even though there are many things happening in our world that we cannot explain we have a God in heaven who has it all under control. We have a God who tells us that if we go to him in prayer with full confidence, he will protect us. He is our refuge in these times of need. We live in times where our faith in Jesus must be strong. There is no place for wavering in our faith. If we do, we a susceptible to being overcome with the fear that surrounds us. There is no place for surrounding ourselves with the things of this world, for they will fail us. Our hope is in our faith in the Lord! We should surround ourselves with the things of God. We should be reading his word, praying constantly and believing that we receive what we ask for in prayer. We should be putting our faith into action by living it and not just talking about it. If we step out in faith, our Lord will prop us up along the way and provide us the assistance we need in our faith walk. We must, however, take the first step forward. Psalm 91:11 tells us that God will order his angels to protect us wherever we go. Do you believe him? If so, begin to act and live like it. There is no danger in this world that we cannot overcome! All we need is a strong faith in Jesus and our own actions that support our faith! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “And you know that the way we lived among you was further proof of the truth of our message.” 1 Thessalonians 1:5 —– ” Our purpose is to please God and not people.” 1 Thessalonians 2:4

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Have you ever heard of the old saying “you are just a chip off the old block”? Have you ever considered just what this means? It means that you are just like someone else. It usually pertains to being similar to your mom or dad. You may have the same values as they or you may have the same characteristics as they do. As we continue to grow in Christ, we are to be chips off the old block. We are to develop the same values and characteristics as Jesus. We are to grow into the love he displayed while on this earth. We are to search for and develop the values he displayed. When we live our lives, we are to live them in the same manner as Jesus. We must be able to display his same actions and his same attitude. As humans we will fail at times. We will falter and do things we shouldn’t. But we should immediately fall down before our Lord and repent and ask for his forgiveness. It is because he lives in us that our hearts know just when we do something wrong. We begin to feel guilty because we are going against the values that our Lord has instilled in us. We will not be able to understand all things or be able to see things through the eyes of Jesus until we get to heaven, but we are to strive for his ways, thoughts and vision in our own lives. When we accept him, he accepts us. He accepts us just as we are and begins to teach from whatever point in life we have obtained. If we have hit rock bottom, then he accepts us at rock bottom. It doesn’t matter to him where we are he comes to us to begin his tutorial. Our lives in Jesus are a work in progress. It is continually being molded into what the Lord wants us to be. We, however, must have faith and trust in our Lord and allow him to take our lives into his hands and help us along the way. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

BE PRUDENT IN THE WAY YOU LIVE!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who are unfaithful, even what little they have will be taken away.” Matthew 25:29 —–“Live wisely among those who are not Christians and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and effective so that you will have the right answer for everyone.” Colossians 4: 5-6

TODAY’S MESSAGE: A prudent person is one who is characterized by being thoughtful, careful about their choices, considering long-term consequences, planning ahead, making calculated decisions, and generally avoiding unnecessary risks. As we look back at how Jesus lived his life upon this earth, we see just how a prudent person should live. Jesus was fully aware of impending danger, but instead of avoiding it, he embraced the consequences on the cross. He used parables to encourage active listening and deliberation, which showed prudence. Jesus would prioritize his actions so that little time was wasted. He was always showing humility, submission to the Father’s will, and perfect obedience. It is important that you and I understand how being prudent should be a major part of how we live our lives. We should be exercising our wisdom and good judgement in everything we do. Just as Jesus, we should show our ability to have a clear plan for our life, to know who we are and what our purpose is. As we read through the Old Testament, we see examples of prudence displayed by David, Solomon, and Daniel. Having prudence in our life is the way we should live. It is the way Jesus lived his life and that in itself shows us the importance of being prudent. We should pray, praise and study his word as a priority to all of our other activities. We must put Jesus first in our lives and depend upon him for help us be prudent in the rest of our day. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

THE SALVATION ROAD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’ t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessings at the appropriate time. Galatians 6:9 —– “How can we understand the road we travel? It is the Lord who directs our steps.” Proverbs 20:24

TODAY’S MESSAGE: The road we travel as a Christian is long and hard. Many have the idea that once we are saved there is no more road to travel. Our Lord clearly tells us there is more, much more. We are just beginning the journey when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Our growth as a spiritual being is just beginning. There are many experiences along the way some good and some with much anxiety and frustration. It matters not what or who we meet on our path we are to stay strong, build our strength and faith, and stay the course. We are to keep our focus directly ahead and not wander off the path to try something new or something that looks shiny and bright. We are not to get tired or discouraged. We are to pray constantly and praise our Lord for what he has done in our lives and for what is to come. I know there are times when I have wondered where I am going and wish my journey had already ended but then I am reminded that my God is not done with me. I still have things to do, a mission to complete and a journey that still offers opportunity for others to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. I am also reminded that I am not to worry about my steps along the way. If I fall the Lord will pick me up. It is He who is directing my steps and not me alone. We can all learn as we travel the Salvation Road. We are to understand that we all have a work to complete in this life. We have been chosen and should be a proud member of the army of our God in heaven. The road to salvation is one journey but the road after salvation is another. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

BE PREPARED FOR THE HYPOCRITES

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: ” And many false prophets will appear and will lead many people astray.” Matthew 24:11 —— ” So be prepared, because you don’t know what day your Lord in coming.” Matthew 24:42 —– “You must be ready all the time. For the Son of Man will come when least expected.” Matthew 24:44

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Hypocrites have been in the world since the beginning. People try to deceive other people in any way they can. The definition of a hypocrite is a person who pretends to have virtues or qualities that he or she does not have. Hypocrites are people whose actions contradict their stand, beliefs or feelings. Today we live in a world where lying and cheating are beginning to become common place. We are commonly associated with these ways and in some cases become accustomed to and even accept them in our lives and display them in the actions we present to others. Whether we believe Jesus is coming soon or not we must understand that each day brings us closer to the day of his return. He tells us that we must stay prepared, we must be alert and not let anything deter us from our faith and our stance with Jesus. The Bible tells us his return will be much like what happened in the time of Noah. People were eating and drinking, getting married and pretty much living their everyday lives when the rain began, and the great flood occurred. By the time they realized what was happening it was too late. We do not want to be late for the return of Jesus. We do not want to be led down a path that will eliminate our journey with Him when he returns. He warns of the hypocrites. He tells us how to discern their motives and know where they stand. Often, we find people who will listen to the message but will not take the time to observe the actions. We must take the time to not only hear the message others bring but we must watch their actions, how they live and how they treat others. We must take their words and compare them to what the Holy Bible tells us. We must stay in touch with our Lord and know his thoughts well. If we don’t, we leave ourselves open to the false prophets of the times. We must be prepared with our attitudes on the straight and narrow and our actions in tune with Jesus! We must turn away from those who do not bring the right message and the right actions. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

DRESSING FOR THE NEW LIFE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “You must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. You must make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive the person who offends you.” Colossians 3:12-13 —– “And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love.” Colossians 3: 12:14

TODAY’S MESSAGE: When you are going out for an evening of relaxation you go to your closet to find the right apparel for the evening. You want to look your best to impress those who are around you. Yesterday we talked about the new life in Christ Jesus. As we get ready to out into the world each day we need to go to our closet and choose the right clothing to live our new life in Christ. The Lord gives us great insight into what we are to wear. We are to wear tenderheartedness, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience and the love of Christ. It is with this clothing that we are prepared to go out into the world and represent our new life in Christ Jesus. We are never to put on fear, doubt or worry. We are to take our old clothing, consisting of anger, jealousy and intimidation and do away with them. Our lives are to change, and they are to change for the better. When we are confronted with troubles, we are to be patient and not allow anxiety to overwhelm us. We are to be humble before others and not try to be intimating. We are to reflect the gentleness and love of Christ. His love is to flow from you and me to those around us. When others are going through troubled times, we should be the calming effect on not be and enabler for sadness, anger or anxiety. When we truly change our lifestyles for Christ, we must dress for the occasion. We must show the world who we are and what we stand for. Our new life is that of Christ Jesus and we must dress appropriately. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

LIVING THE NEW LIFE!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “Since you have been raised to a new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at God’s right hand in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth.” Colossians 3:1-2

TODAY’S MESSAGE: We live in the earthly realm and are surrounded by the things of this world. We live by the world’s standards, the world’s rules and all of the other ways that are dictated by the world itself. However, when we accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior we became citizens of a new place, a wonderful place, a place inhabited by Christ Jesus himself. We became citizens of heaven. Even though we may not be residents’ just yet, we do belong to our new place of citizenship and have obtained all of the benefits that come with living in heaven. It is harder for us who currently reside in this world, to think of heaven as our permanent residence and what it offers to us as citizens, but if we just read the Word of God each day and pray, we are given the opportunity to reach out and grasp onto the realities of heaven itself. We are told in Colossians 3:1-2 that we are to let heaven fill our thoughts and not the earth. We are to learn the ways of Jesus and live our lives that represent the ways of our new place of citizenship. Our lives here on earth should be completely different than the lives of those in the world. We are to stand out, and when we do, we will have to endure mocking, persecution and taunting. Our roots must be allowed to penetrate so deeply into the soil of the Word of God that we produce the fruits of heaven here on earth. We must be so strong in God’s Word that we no longer fear the taunting and persecution of those who surround us. We must, without fear, allow ourselves to spread God’s ways to others in preparation of His return. It is important that we live the new life here on earth. We have a purpose and a role to play while we are still a resident on this earth. Let is all stay prayerfully aware of our new citizenship established in heaven and let us Live the New Life without fear. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

CHRIST IS NUMBER ONE- SO LIVE LIKE IT!

TODAY’S SPRIPTURE: “This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is changing lives, just as it changed yours that very first day you heard and understood the truth about God’s great kindness to sinners.” Colossians 1:6

TODAY’S MESSAGE: As sports fans we can really get excited about our favorite teams. Whether they are 11-0 or 0-11 we seem to be able to muster up excitement every time they take the field. Because they are our favorites, we want to show our support and root them on. Today we have another team that is ready to be rooted on. It is probably the most famous team in the world and is one that has the strongest offense, and the strongest defense ever recorded. This team is one that never loses and deserves our very loud support. It is team Jesus. There is no doubt that as Christians we belong to a team that is number one in the world. We, however, don’t always treat it as such. Many times, we like to hide it under a rug or shy away from even talking about it. This isn’t how we would treat our favorite football team. So, why do we treat team Jesus in this way? I am guessing, but I think I am pretty close in saying, that sometimes we don’t want to field the pressures that sometime come with belonging to this great team. The other teams in the world like to persecute and taunt in very unnerving ways. They like to yell loudly mean words that my sting and hurt us as we hear them. They may even get so angry that they try to hurt us. Because of this treatment we will hide our team Jesus relationship in the basement and not even talk about it. Well the time has come to show up. Jesus did not shy away from those who were fiercely against him. He didn’t shy away from those who put him to death. Instead, he stood up and put his record on the line. He didn’t yell, throw words back at his persecutors or try to find others that he could hire to hurt them. Instead, he lived his life in God. He lived with a calmness, a powerfully joyful attitude and went forward with success. You and I are to do the same. We have Jesus as our team leader. How can we go wrong. He is there to help us up when we are pushed down. He is there to give us his loving hand when we need a little nudge to move forward. Our lives must show our support and love for this great team. It is Jesus who we should focus on and not the world. It is Jesus we should put first in our lives. When we do, we will never lose. We are undefeated no matter the opposition! Let us all let it be known our support for being a member of Team Jesus! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

BE OPEN TO THE THOUGHTS OF GOD!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3

TODAY’S MESSAGE: To live our lives can be simple or can be hard. If we put too much into our thoughts, we can live a very complicated and sometimes tragic life. There have been times in my own life where I sat and pondered upon subjects for hours upon hours. After I had worn myself out mentally, I found that I had accomplished completely nothing. When I began to read the bible, I found myself once again reading and trying to digest each and every word. I was a newborn Christian and wanted to digest as much as I could. However, I soon learned that my mind was about to explode. I was learning very little and came away from my study with little to no knowledge. As a matter of fact, I came away in many instances confused and without learning much at all. Still today I find myself, at times, doing much the same thing. After much prayer, the Lord made it very clear to me that in order to believe in Him and to understand Him I must not overthink things but instead become, once again childlike. I had to wipe away all of the worldly learning I had obtained over the years and be open to Him and Him alone. I had to come to the understanding that God does not talk to me mentally but instead he talks to my heart. It is what comes from the heart that drives our thoughts from Christ Jesus. He speaks to the heart and not the mind. The mind tries to outthink the Lord, but the heart accepts Him and learns by his soft touch. I learned that prayer, prior to reading his word, was important. I learned to pray for understanding and wisdom. I asked and prayed for him to talk to me and to help me to give him my total attention. Learning to hear the Lord is a process and that process comes from turning once again childlike. A child’s mind and heart are uncomplicated, innocent, clean, and open to the new things of Christ Jesus. We must learn to listen to our hearts and not our minds. JESUS IS LORD! THE PATHWAY TO PEACE IS PRAYER!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: ” Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Everyday I spend time looking for peace of mind. I spend great amounts of time looking for a peace that will give me a life that is not swollen with desires of the flesh. I want to live a life that is good and not evil. I want to live a life that is full of healing and not sickness. I want to live a life that is full of security and not of distress and fear. I want to live a life that is of joy and not sadness. I want to be able to walk with strength, happiness and knowledge that allows me to have the confidence of one who knows the results that are coming, instead of one who is lost and does not understand. All of this is at my fingertips. Philippians 4:6 describes exactly how to achieve all of this. I must become aware that I must not be anxious about anything but instead go directly to God in prayer. When in prayer I should tell him exactly what is on my mind, what I desire of him and then give him thanks for the answer he gives me. I am to go to God in prayer often according to the scriptures. It is so important that I stay in tune with my Lord. He wants me to stay whole and not torn apart. Without staying in constant prayer, I allow myself to be vulnerable to the outside evils of this world. Without prayer I become weaker and susceptible to the things of the world. But with constant prayer I stay covered by the blanket of safety my God in heaven so graciously gives me. With prayer I stay protected by his covenant of love and protection. With prayer I am able to face the stumbling blocks put before me without consternation. Instead, I am able to face those problems head on knowing that my Lord is fighting for me. With prayer I know that with the power of the Holy Spirit, that God has gifted to live within me, I can overcome anything that comes against me. Prayer is my pathway to peace. There is no other way. I must stay on my telephone to Christ and never hang up! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

FOR JESUS IS OUR LIFE!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. ” Psalm 68:19 —– ” Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5 —– ” For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” Philippians 2:13

TODAY’S MESSAGE: We all live for something. Some live for their desire to accomplish great things in the world. Others live for their desire to satisfy the demands of their parents or grandparents. Still others live to be recognized by those around them for the many achievements they have accomplished at their workplace or home. This is all well and good, but we should have a greater priority as a follower of Jesus Christ. Our lives should be overcome with the desire to live in harmony with the way Jesus lived his life. We should be a sound reflection of how Jesus lived on this earth. He was loving, caring, had compassion for the needs of others, forgiving, patient, humble, courageous, gentle, and had a servant’s attitude. All of these attributes are the way Jesus led his life on the earth. That is how you and I should be attempting to live our lives. Yes, it is nice to have accomplishments and be recognized by others, but our main focus should be on Jesus and how he lived. We are human and will not always reach our goals. When we fall, he is there to pick us up. We must remember that it is from our hearts that we live like Jesus and not by our humanity. It is by the Holy Spirit that we stay on the right path and not stray. When we represent Jesus, we are helping the Lord to help those who need him so desperately. Is it time to re-focus? How are you living your life? If you are not sure, then go back to the Lord in prayer and ask him for his help. He loves us and will not leave us stranded. He is always with us and there to pick us up when we fail. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

THE EARTH IS THE LORD’S!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Psalm 24:1

TODAY’S MESSAGE: I have many possessions that I consider to be very valuable to me. If someone were to take them from me, I would be very unhappy or even angry. Let us consider our God in heaven. He created the earth and all that is in it. The earth and everything that exist upon it belong to our God. You and I are also his possessions. We belong to him. He created each of us for a purpose and that purpose is to please him. How do you suppose our Lord feels when he sets back to view the beautiful world he has created and sees it in such disarray? How do you think he feels when he sees the destruction of his beautiful mountains, valleys and rivers? How do think he feels when he sees his children running amuck and doing things that totally against his ways? I would venture to guess that he feels much like you and me when we lose a possession that is dear to our hearts. However, his love for us is greater than his desire to destroy the earth and all who inhabit it. He did that in Noah’s time. You and I have a safety valve. We have a way out of the chaos that is prevalent in this world. Instead of a time of revenge he has created a time of grace. He allowed Jesus to walk this earth and then die on the cross so that we can live. All we have to do is invite him into our hearts and then truly believe. We must continue to live with faith and build our faith up so that our lives are a testimony to him on this earth, and not a testimony to the evil one. Yes, the devil is allowed to do his thing, but we have a chance get out from under his control by the grace of our Lord. The devil is marching to his end. The earth and all that is in it will be made anew in these end days. But we are not there yet. We still have time. Until Jesus returns to harvest his children, we can secure our spot in heaven if we just come to our senses and believe. The time is running short. Let us all get on the train to heaven and not look back. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE! WE SHOULD BE GLAD AND REJOICE IN IT!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: ” FINALLY BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND HIS MIGHTY POWER. PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD SO THAT YOU CAN TAKE YOUR STAND AGAINST THE DEVIL’S SCHEMES. OUR STRUGGLE IS NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST THE RULERS, AGAINST TTHE AUTHORITIES, AGAINST THE POWER OF THIS DARK WORLD AND AGAINST THE SPIRITUAL FORCES OF EVIL IN THE HEAVENLY REALMS. ” EPHESIANS 6:10-13

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Each morning when we wake up, we should take the time to thank the Lord in the day he has prepared for us. We should be thankful for being able to live each day with the strength of the Lord God in heaven. He has given us the tools we need in order to survive and conquer our mountains and get through our valleys. He has given us the understanding to know that we are in a war, a spiritual war in our lives. He has prepared us by giving us truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation and the word of God to help us with our fight. These tools give us strength in our battles, protect us from the flaming arrows of this world and help to keep us focused on our Lord and the battle before us. We are to recognize that it is eternal salvation we see at the end of the tunnel. It is everlasting life with our God in heaven that keeps us going. Living in in the truths of Jesus and having a strong faith to believe and receive are our strengths. They are what lift high above our problems and help us to conquer our daily struggles. We live in a special time and should be glad and rejoice in this time. Remember, this is the day the Lord has made, and we should be glad and rejoice in it! PRASIE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

DON’T ALLOW YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES TO STEAL AWAY YOUR JOY!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart that you may observe it.” Deuteronomy 30:14

TODAY’S MESSAGE: It is difficult to allow joy to overcome our hurts in life. When bad things happen, we often allow those things to become the center of our life. We focus on them and think of them all of the time. They begin to burn a hole in our pockets to the point of not allowing anything else to enter our thoughts or actions. However, our Lord plainly tells us that we don’t have to feel the despair that our troubles sometimes bring. His Holy Word is near us. His word is in our hearts and in our mouths. All we have to do is to seek them out and dwell on them. Prayer plays a vital part in our overcoming the bad things in our lives. When we pray, we allow ourselves entrance into the spiritual world. We enter into the presence of our Almighty God in heaven. It is through Jesus that we are able to be recognized by our God and our prayers heard and answered. When we begin to pray our minds go to the Lord and not to the evil around us. When we find the scriptures, we can begin to recite his promises for our lives, and we suddenly begin to see that there is more to life on this earth than the problems that confront on a daily basis. Joy is given the opportunity to enter our beings, and our desires turn from feeling sorry for ourselves to Jesus our Lord and Savior. It is important that we continue to surround ourselves with the heavenly things of God. Prayer, praise and thanksgiving should come from our mouths. Our focus should be on Jesus every day. He is the answer to our problems. He is the one who can and will resolve our issues if we just allow him to. We must always remember that our God in always near us. He is not somewhere else in the universe where it takes days to receive our prayers. He lives in us through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Our communication with him is instant and there is no waiting period required. He wants us to come to him and we should desire to go to him. We must, however, build up our faith and continue to be faithful in our time with him. If we do, then the joy we receive will overcome the circumstances we face! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

THE CHANGE OF CLOTHING!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: ” THAT, IN REFERENCE TO YOUR FORMER MANNER OF LIFE, YOU LAY ASIDE THE OLD SELF, WHICH IS BEING CORRUPTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LUSTS OF DECEIPT, AND THAT YOU BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND, AND PUT ON THE NEW SELF, WHICH IN THE LIKENESS OF GOD HAS BEEN CREATED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS OF THE TRUTH.” EPHESIANS 4:22-24

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Our lives on this earth cause us to become dirty because of the ways of the world and the thoughts of those around us. We are born into a life of sin. As we live our lives in the world, we continue get dirtier and dirtier with the thoughts and actions that we are prompted to go along with. We doubt, fear, get angry, hold grudges, lie and cheat among many other compromised actions. When we come to Jesus, we must become clean. We must throw away our old self and begin a new type of life. We are put on a new change of clothes making ourselves complete with the ideas of Jesus. We must begin our journey in Christ by becoming a child once again. We must throw away the learning we have attained in the world and begin to learn all over again. The ways of Jesus are completely different from the ways we were living in the world. We are to do away with our anger, deceit, lusts and worry, doubt and fear. Living in the world is much like living in a cult. When we escape, we must train ourselves once again to live in a different way. This is not an easy venture. It is a course that takes time to complete. We must not only become aware of the Lord’s new ideas, but we must also be able to live them by applying them to our daily lives. It takes a study of the Word of God along with meditation in his word. It takes daily communication with our Lord through prayer. It takes a confident person from the world and turns them into a humbled person before God. We are to become one in Christ. We are to look like him, live like him, and talk like him. When others look at us, they are to see a change. The time gets closer and closer each day for the return of our Lord Jesus. When that happens the period of grace will be complete. Don’t miss the opportunity! JESUS IS LORD! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

THE SIMPLE PRAYER!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “The Lord will stay with you for as long as you stay with him. whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.” 2 Chronicles 15:2

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Today I raised my head from my pillow and began my day as I usually do. I begin my day by a daily prayer. This morning, I was having problems putting my thoughts to together. I struggled as I tried desperately to speak to the Lord as intelligently as I could. As I continually struggled, the Holy Spirit spoke a quick thought to me, He reminded me that it is not the words of a prayer that the Lord gives answer to, and it isn’t the length of the prayer that the Lord gives answer to, but it is what is in our hearts that the Lord pays attention to and answers. Then I remembered what Jesus told his disciples about the prayers of the Pharisees, how long and drawn out they were. How they were trying to show others of their importance by way of their prayers. Sometimes I catch myself in that awkward position of trying to make my prayers too long and sometimes with repetition. I immediately slowed down this morning and prayed only what was in my heart. I suddenly remembered that our God already knows our thoughts. He already knows our prayers. We don’t have to make our prayers to him long and never ending but only from our hearts. I remembered that the Lord has reminded me on many occasions of how prayer should also consist of praise and thanks to God, for what He has done, and will do for us. So, my prayer this morning was a simple one. I praised our Lord Jesus; I prayed only what had been put on my heart and then I thanked Him for his answers. We are to keep our prayers simple and not too complex. Sometimes a long prayer is necessary, but I believe the Lord knows our thoughts and our situations and always helps us in our prayer life. FOLLOWINIG JESUS IS COSTLY

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:24-25 —– ” For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as the result of works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

Today’s Message: Following Jesus is not an easy venture. It requires a lot from us but allows us the freedoms that Jesus so richly provides. Before meeting the Lord, we are set in our ways. We are driven by the things of the world. We consider ourselves to be the center of the universe. However, after we meet Jesus all of this changes. We must be willing to make changes in our lives. These changes are not just subtle small differences but are huge changes in the way we think and the way we live our lives. We must put ourselves to the back of the line and put Jesus at the front. We no longer are to consider ourselves Kings and Queens of the universe. We instead, are to develop a servant’s attitude, where we consider others better than ourselves. We begin to understand that the things of the world are no longer the most important things to us but instead, Jesus, becomes our focus and our life. Persecution comes full force, and we must be strong in faith and in our understanding of the Word of God. We must learn of the tools that God gives us to survive in this world. We must listen to our guide, the precious Holy Spirit and make choices that we may feel uncomfortable with. We must realize that it is not works that get us saved, but instead, it is confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior and believing with a strong faith that he is our Savior, Lord and refuge. We must begin to understand that our good works come from our belief in Him and not Him from our good works. Jesus provides us a way to eternal life. That way is through Him. When we choose his way, the path becomes difficult with many obstacles put in front of us. However, we are able to overcome and conquer our fears with a strong faith in Jesus and his great power! THE FAITHFULNESS OF OUR GOD IN HEAVEN!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “Though we ourselves are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.” Psalm 65:3 —– ” So we receive God’s promise of freedom only believing in Jesus Christ.” Galatians 3:22

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Sin is everywhere. This world became sin when God threw the devil out of heaven. When you and I were born into this world we were born into the sin of the world. We were born sinners. Our make-up is that of a sinner and our natural actions consist of sin. Everywhere we go and whatever we do we have the ability and the desire to sin. Sin is who we are. However, our God in heaven loves us so much that he has given each of us a solution to our sinful problems. It was not without sacrifice that God gave us the chance at a new nature. Through sacrificing his son, Jesus Christ, he gave us opportunity to receive his nature of love, peace and joy. He gives us the gift of wiping our sins away. When he does so, he forgives them and forgets them as though they never happened in the first place. This is sometimes hard for us to understand. Therefore, he has given us a mission to accomplish. It is one that is easy and hard at the same time. We are to believe with faith in his sacrifice for us. We are to focus on and believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We are to ask him to reside in our hearts and live in us. You may ask, how is that so hard? The answer is that we must believe in something unseen and not seen. We must develop a faith that is so strong that our lives reflect the love of Jesus. Our lives must reflect his joy and his peace. We must display his characteristics in good times and hard times. When a family member is sick, we must believe that God will take care of them. When we lose our job, we must believe that our God in heaven has his hand in the situation. When a disastrous destroys all of our earthly possessions we must believe that the Lord is in control. Our beliefs must be so strong that our lives gravitate to his ways and thoughts and not to those of this world. Our Lord loves us and will never disappoint us. When he closes one door, he opens another. We must believe that we receive and take action on those beliefs. We are overcomers of the evils of this world through the life and death of Jesus. Sin has no rule over us if we stay focused and believe! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

FOR CHRIST LIVES IN US!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “For they look, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.” Matthew 13:13 —– My old self was crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” Matthew 2:20

TODAY’S MESSAGE: There have been many times in my journey with the Lord that I have read the bible and seen the words and read the words but came away with nothing. When I was reading, I was not concentrating, and I was not allowing the Lord to work within me. I was just reading because I felt that it was necessary. When I was done, I shut the bible, walked away and never applied any of his principles to my life. I was in that learning mode. Hearing him, listening to him and doing as he instructs is a learning and growing experience. His word is just that, his word. It is not something we are to take for granted. It is his true word and is coming directly from our God in heaven. Through it he strengthens our thoughts and provides us meaningful ways to live our lives. As born-again believers we have the Lord living in us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He guides our ways, helps us to make decisions, puts us back on the right path when we stray and puts us back on our feet when we fall. He also opens our eyes, our thoughts and our ears. When we allow him to actively work in our lives we see things differently. We hear and understand. We look and we see. We listen and we really do hear. When we come to the Lord, we are to recognize that our old self has been crucified. We were on that cross with Jesus and died right beside him. We no longer live! However, Jesus does continue to live, and he is living right inside of each of us who have accepted him through faith. When we allow the “Holy Spirt Experience” to take place in us, our lives become strong and full of Jesus himself. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

WALK BY THE SPIRIT!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: “But I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.” GALATIANS 5:16—– ” But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” GALATIANS 5: 22

TODAY’S MESSAGE: As we were born into this world we were born with a sinful nature. Our nature was and still is sinful and unrighteous. We have desires in our being that are sometimes unspeakable. However, our Lord God in heaven has given us an ability to overcome our sinful nature and live our lives in righteousness by living in the Spirit. When Jesus left this world, the Holy Spirit was sent. Through our Faith in Jesus God has given us his Spirit to live within us. His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, is God himself. The Holy Spirit is a person with a mind, a will, emotions and communication abilities. These are all the same attributes of those of our God in heaven and Jesus himself. The Holy Spirit is a person and not a thing. We sometimes forget this and treat Him as something other than who he is. He is the third person of the Holy Trinity- The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is God himself displayed in the person of the Holy Spirit. He is our helper. He is our guide. He is the Spirit of Truth. It is very important that we take time to listen to Him when he speaks to us. He is said to speak in a small still voice. We must be able to be quiet and listen closely. We must take the time to shut down our busy lives and listen. We must be disciplined in how we walk in the Spirit. He is the way and the light for our feet. The Holy Spirit produces love, joy, patience, peace, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in each of us. We can walk this earth with confidence when we walk in the Spirit. It is our God who is in control. He is God Almighty, Jesus our Lord and Savior, and the guide for our life, the Holy Spirit. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!
