PAY CLOSE ATTENTION

Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen the more understanding you will be given, and you will receive even more.” Mark 4:24

Romans 10:17 tells us that “ Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” This scripture gives us knowledge on how faith is received. We receive faith by reading, listening to, and meditating upon God’s Word. When we read or listen to the Word of God we are to be focused and not let the outside world in. We are to be careful to read his word in a very methodical and uninterrupted way. We are to concentrate on every word he gives us and not allow interruptions to take place. I have found that I need to set aside time early in the morning when there are no distractions. It is just the Lord and me. I pray and praise him and read his Word very carefully. I take notes and make use of every word he gives me. I have the time and take the time to just concentrate on him and nothing else. Early in the morning is the time that I write his words down that allow this blog to be written. When we dedicate our lives to him, we are to do just that. He becomes the center of our lives and nothing else. We look to him for the answers to any problem we may confront. I like to compare my morning visits with the Lord like filling my car with gas in preparation for a long road trip. My body and spirit need rejuvenating and recharged. It prepares me for each day, and I am able to begin with joy and peace and not confusion or anger. Our Lord Jesus should be our life. He should be the center of all of our attention and focus. When he is our focus, our lives become so much more fulfilled, and we are the testimonies to others we are to be. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

BE JOYOUS IN YOUR PRAISE

“Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! Sing about the glory of his name. Tell the world how glorious he is.” Psalm 66:1-2

We are to be thankful and praise our Lord God in heaven often. We are to glorify him to the world at all turns in our lives. We should begin our prayer time each day with praising our God for all the good and great things he does for us. We should thank him and praise him for all things that true, honorable and right, pure, lovely and admirable, and excellent and worthy of praise. We should thank him for his healing and his healing power, his love, his peace of mind and his ever-loving protection. We should shout his praises all day long because his gifts are on-going and never stop. His mighty protection surrounds us when we are in trouble and his love embraces us always. THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE!

” You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.” Proverbs 3: 25-26

Our Lord God in heaven is our refuge in times of trouble. He is our safety net when we fall. He is our peace of mind when we need comfort. He is our light in the dark when we need to see. He is our peace of mind in times of confusion. Our Lord God in heaven is our total life. He has given his son, Jesus Christ as a sacrifice, so as to graft us into his holy family, so that we can live with the hope of everlasting life. He has given us all of the spiritual tools we need in order to live our lives here in this world without worry or defeat. With our faith in Jesus, we have the ability to defeat any evil that approaches us. By using the powerful name of Jesus, we are victors and not victims. Just as the rich and the famous, here in this world, we also have security surrounding us. The difference is that our security cannot be defeated. He is the ultimate security and is ready to defend his children through thick and thin. We may not always understand, but as we trust him, our lives become stronger, and our ways become more like Jesus. We must remember and always remember that “there is no fear in Love. Perfect Love casts our fear.” 1 John 4:18. God is that Love! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

WHO CONTROLS YOU?

” For you are a slave to whatever controls you.” 2 Peter 2:19

The word control means to “exercise, restraining or directing influence over.” Have you ever taken a step back from your busy life and considered the question, WHO CONTROLS YOU? We can be controlled by many different things. We can be controlled by our spouse, our boss, alcohol, drugs, our friends, words, threats, ourselves and just about anything else that we allow to control us. When we are controlled, our lives are directed in such a way that allows, whoever or whatever is controlling us, to benefit. We do what they ask or what they direct us to do. Our benefit for being controlled is usually zero. We often agree to do things or act in ways that we may not agree with. In many cases we reap nothing but aggravation, pain and suffering. To be controlled by the world does not allow us to share ideas and thoughts but instead to be a slave. Fear often drives worldly control. However, we do have an option. Jesus has offered to be our Lord and Savior. We are to surround ourselves with his ideas, his thoughts and his ways. He died so that we can live. If we are willing to live a life surrounded by the love of our Lord, then he will be in control and not us. If we are allowing him to direct our paths, then we will be rewarded with peace of mind and the feel of his loving arms around us. His control is driven by his love for us and not hate. His control surrounds us with joy, peace, love and strength in our lives. He is our Lord and not the world around us. He will lead us in what we do and what we say. He controls the way we live our lives and not the world around us. Who is in control of your life? Who is your first go to resource in your time of need? Jesus is available. BELIEVE THAT YOU RECEIVE AS YOUR GOD IN HEAVEN IS YOUR SOURCE!

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16

” Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.” Mark 5:34

How often is the prayer outlet used in your life? Is it used daily or is it used only when you need something from God? God’s word tells us in James 5 that a person in right standing with God has great power and produces wonderful results. In Mark 34 we see the woman with the issue of blood. She believed that if she could just touch the rim of his gown that she would be healed. Her faith had been strengthened by hearing of his great miracles and built even stronger by seeing him. She had plugged into her source of strength, her faith. She knew without a doubt, what the result would be. Jesus confirmed that by telling her that her faith had healed her. You and I are also in need of being righteous in the Lord. We are to read and meditate upon his word daily. We are to pray to him constantly. We are to live our lives with strength and not weakness. Our faith is to be strong and unwavering. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior our life changes. Our mindset becomes one of trust and love and patience. We, however, are in control of keeping our faith strong and not allowing it to become weak. We are in control of how much we stay in contact with our Lord. We are to build our faith and continue to build our faith daily. We are to talk with him daily. We are to praise him daily. We are to stay plugged into our source and never unplug. This is not easy and our God in heaven never told us it would be. He did, however, give us the tools to make our lives worthy. He sent his Holy Spirit to give us direction, guidance and help. He provides us with instructions on how to follow our Lord. You and I must be able to stay in contact and follow him through every tribulation we may encounter. We must never lose contact but instead always stay plugged in. Remember, we must believe we receive because our God in heaven is our Source! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

CHANGE THE WAY!

If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross and follow me. If you try to hang onto your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.” MARK 8:34-35

” And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. In view of this make every effort to respond to God’s promises.” 2 PETER 1:4-5

When you and I accept Jesus into our lives we become followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are to do away with our worldly ways and hang up the past so that we are not constantly falling into the messy traps of the devil and his corrupt world. We are to live our lives in such a way that honors our Lord. We are not to live our lives in a way that is selfish and honorable to ourselves. We are to do away with the “me” attitude and replace it with the love and joy of Jesus. Our God in heaven has given us great and honorable promises. His promises were given so as to help us walk in his ways and share his glory and his story. We are to use and declare his promises to the world around us. Our lives are to represent every word and every action that Jesus took while on this earth. We are to walk away from evil and walk straight toward Jesus in every situation. We are to do away with fear and doubt and continue to build and strengthen our faith. There is no other way. This nothing else that can help us through this world. Our lives will exist wherever we choose to live them. Where do you choose? Do you choose to fit in and live the ways of the world or do you choose to stand in the face of evil and live in the Joy of Jesus? PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

STAY ALERT AND KEEP WATCH!

” The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.” 1 Peter 4:7

” Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him and be strong in your faith.” 1 Peter 5:8&9

You and I are living in an upside-down world. What used to be considered good is now considered bad. What we used to be able to say, we cannot say today without persecution. Every day since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been living in God’s period of grace. He gave his one and only son to die for you and me. In this period of grace, we have the opportunity to be saved by acknowledging our sins before God and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He was given to die once and for all, to save those who believe and receive. In this time that we live we are to pray to God with earnest and disciplined prayers. We are to know the bible. We are to know the promises our God has given us. We are to be able to know what is good and bad in reference to God’s holy word. We are to be able to pray prayers that are in line with his word and not prayers of selfishness and that are not earnest. Our Lord is returning soon. I understand this message has been brought forward for thousands of years, but as we move closer, we can see all of the evidence of his return. His Word tells us to be alert. It tells us that we may not know the day and the time, but we will know the season. The devil also knows God’s word very well. He is well versed in it and knows very well his time is short. Because of this, he is running rampant. The bible tells us he is like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. All we have to do is look around at today’s world. It is confusing (which is of the devil), it is selfish and self-giving. You and I are to be able to stand strong. We can only do this by having a strong faith in Jesus. We must stay focused and never waver in our beliefs. We may be attacked physically, mentally, spiritually or financially, but we must stand strong with strong faith. Our prayers must be earnest and disciplined. It is so important to stay alert, keep watch and stay strong in the Lord! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

TUNE INTO THE CORRECT STATION

“But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.” Proverbs 1:33

The definition of listen is to “make a conscious effort to hear; attend closely, so as to hear & to pay attention; take advice.” We sometimes hear things but are not really in the moment. In other words, we do not pay close attention to what we are hearing. We have our minds or thoughts on something else. When we read the Word of God, we are to be tuned in. We are to pay attention to every word he says. We are to study what he says and meditate upon it. We are to receive and understand what he says, evaluate and remember what he says, and respond to what he says. We should believe that we receive from him because he is our source for all things. If we do not understand what he is telling us, then we should pray and ask for understanding. We should evaluate what he says by meditating and studying his Words. We should take the time to remember what he tells us by responding to him. We should live the way he tells us and make his word our way of life. If we are tuned into our God in heaven and believe that we receive what he tells us, even though there are bad things happening around us, we will be unharmed by the fear of these things. As we are tuned into him our faith grows immensely and we will be able to live with a peace of mind. PRASIE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

ONE WAY AND ONE WAY ONLY!

“So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentile and respectful way.” 1 Peter 3:14-16

There is one way and one way only when it comes to eternal hope. That way is through our loving and gracious Jesus Christ. When we begin to build our faith in the truths of Jesus, we begin to do things through his words and his thoughts. He is the road we travel and no other. When we confront obstacles along the way, we are able to remove them through our spiritually superhuman ways in prayer and faith. We believe in the unseen power of our God in heaven and not the ways of this world. We are spiritual beings and do not belong to this world. We are here as visitors only with a one-way ticket home through our faith in Jesus. Living in this world will present before us threats and persecution along the way. We are told not to worry or be afraid, but instead, to worship Christ as our Lord and Savior, with our eyes focused solely on him. The lives we live each day will reflect our trust and beliefs in his strength and joy in us. There will be those who watch us to see how we handle struggles in this life. We are to stay strong in Jesus and be ready to show and tell others of our hope in Him. We are also told to do these things in a gentile and respectful way. We are to represent the exact way Jesus handled the same kind of problems when he was on this earth. We must learn his truths and use them to show others the one way and only way to eternal hope through Jesus! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

LOOK UPWARD, HE IS COMING SOON!

“be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return.” James 5:7

” You too must be patient. Take courage for the coming of the Lord is near.” James 5:8

The world has been hearing for thousands of years that our Lord is going to be returning soon. There have been those who have predicted days and hours without success. Our Lord tells us that we will not know the day nor the hour, but we will know the season. There are certain conditions that needed to be met before the Lord returns. Those prophesies and/or conditions are all in place. Everything is ready and the return of our Lord Jesus is imminent. He could come in the next moment or the next day or it could be the next year. We just do not know. The bible tells us that not even the Son knows the time or date, only God himself. We are to be patient until his return. We are to be able to accept and tolerate his delay without being anxious. We are to believe without doubt that he is coming, and we are to be prepared no matter when it is. As always there will be scoffers and those who persecute by mocking us for our beliefs. We are, with strong faith and trust in our God in heaven, to withstand these actions and move forward in our lives with hope and joy. We are to be consistent in our faith and continue to be living testimonies, winning souls for Jesus until his return. He will return in the blinking of an eye and receive us in the air. Whether he calls us home before his return or at his return we are to be prepared. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

LISTEN AND ACT

” REMEMBER, IT IS A SIN TO KNOW WHAT YOU OUGHT TO DO AND THEN NOT DO IT.” JAMES 4:17

As you and I continue to grow in Jesus there are times when we do not listen carefully to what our God is telling us to do. The Lord has given each of us the tools we need to live our lives the way the Lord want us to live them. He has given us the strength and the confidence to witness to those who are so desperately in need of God’s help. We are living testimonies for Jesus. Our faith is what sustains us and keeps us strong in the Lord Jesus. Our faith is what allows us to accept and listen to the Holy Spirit of God. If there is a mountain in front of us and we do not climb it, then we will never see what is on the other side. We are not weak but instead God has made us strong by giving us the Holy Spirit to help us through times of problems. James tells us that if we know the way of the Lord and do not do it, it is a sin. We must listen and do. We must know God’s holy word and know his ways. We must live our lives in strength and not fear. We must remember that there is no fear in love, but that perfect love casts out fear. (1 Peter 5:7) We must remember that God is that love. Jesus died so that we could live! BUILDING UPON THE CORNERSTONE

” You are coming to Christ, who is the cornerstone of God’s temple.” 1 Peter 2:4

And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. 1 Peter 2:5

The definition of a cornerstone is a stone that forms the base of a corner, joining two walls. In 1 Peter 2:4-5 Jesus is described as the cornerstone of God’s spiritual temple. It is the strongest piece of his temple. It is Jesus that you and I are to be dependent upon. We are to worship him, trust him, have unconditional faith in him, and allow him to function in our lives. Our God in heaven has used his son, Jesus, as this vital piece that makes his spiritual temple strong. Jesus gave his life so that you and I can also be a part of God’s temple. As we build our faith and trust we become strong pieces that God adds to his spiritual structure. We are described as living stones that God is building into his temple. You and I are living and breathing parts of the spiritual temple of our God in heaven. We are to live lives that represent our status as a part of Jesus. He loves us and we are to love him. He has shown the strength of his love by dying for us and now we are to show our love, trust and faith in him. Jesus is the cornerstone, and we are the living stones that are to be added. The bible is the living word of our God in heaven. It is a guide to a better life, a refuge in our time of need, a safety net in troubled times, instruction on living our lives and a testimony to the truth and the joy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We are to be continuous in our attention to his word. We are not to hesitate in any way in reading it, meditating upon it and praying it’s promises. We are to pray and study its content and we are to do this regularly. With prayer and meditation, our Lord God will lead us through his word. He will give us the answers we need and never let us get lost. Our focus must never waver as we study, and our conversations with him should always be continuous and honest. There is nothing too big or too small for our Lord to handle. He loves us and will help us if we choose to have him help us. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives. It is never too late to ask God for help. Every time we talk with him and pray and praise him our faith becomes a little stronger. We need to focus upon Jesus in this day and age in which we live. TRULY BE GLAD IN THE LORD!

” So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. “ 1 Peter 1:6-7

Our God in heaven wants each and every one of us to be happy. However, if we are a breathing human being then there will be testing and trials in our lives. With a strong faith and a truly glad and joyful spirit we will be overcomers of these trials. As we walk through the valleys and over the mountain tops of testing, we are to be overcomers. With a genuine faith in our Lord, we are to keep a focus on the end result. We are to walk each day with a faith in our Lord that is genuine and without fault. These trials will produce an authentic faith, one that is undisputable to our Lord God in heaven. They will help us to be stronger in our ways and our thoughts. With our focus on the end result we will be able to walk and fight the good fight no matter the conditions in our lives. It is by genuine faith that we are healed, it is by a genuine faith that we are strong, and it is by keeping our faith in top condition that we are able to be confident in our Lord each day. RESIST AND STAND FIRM IN YOUR FAITH!

“So, humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come close to God and God will come close to you.” James 4:7-8

We are to humble ourselves before our God in heaven. We are to go before him and admit our failures. We are to admit that we are sinners and nothing better. The bible tells us that when we do, he will forgive us and accept us as we are. He will stand by us and walk before us. He will become our strength to move forward, our refuge in times of need and our safety net when we fail. We are to stand in front of the devil and stare him directly in the face and rebuke who he is and what he stands for. We are to resist his every move. The devil is strong when we allow him to be strong. He is weak when we are strong and resist him. If we stand up and resist, he will run with the knowledge that we are much too strong for him. As James 4:7-8 tells us, if we come close to God our God will come close to us. Our faith will become stronger with every prayer we pray and every holy word we read. We must resist and stand firm in our faith. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

BE SINCERE IN PRAYER

” AND EVEN WHEN YOU ASK, YOU DON’T GET IT BECAUSE YOUR MOTIVES ARE ALL WRONG- YOU WANT ONLY WHAT WILL GIVE YOU PLEASURE.” JAMES 4:3

Have you ever taken time to step back in your prayer life and truly examine your motives for each prayer. Have you ever measured the time you spend asking God for things verses the time you spend praising and giving thanks to him? Yes, we are to pray, and we are to ask our loving God for his help in our times of need. He wants to give, for he is a loving and giving God. However, how many times do we catch ourselves praying for things that are created by self-motives? We want this or that because it will help us to promote ourselves or promote some worldly thing that give us pleasure. We are living in a time that prayer should be at the forefront of our daily routines. We should be talking and praying and to our God each and every day. The world we live in and the people who surround us need our prayers. We should focus and be reminded of our motives for prayer. We should be unselfish in prayer and pray for those who so desperately need it. We should be praising our God for all of his good and great gifts and for just being who he is. We should be gracious in prayer. We should know his promises to us and pray those promise for those around us and for ourselves. Our Lord loves us and wants us to be saved, forgiven, healed, protected, strengthened and to be like him. He wants our lives to be comfortable, but we must recognize that our lives may not always be easy. Let us all learn to pray with a sincere heart and a righteous mind. THE TIME OF TESTING & TEMPTATION

“God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation.” James 1:12

When Jesus began his ministry, he was taken by the devil to the highest point and tempted. It all sounded good, but Jesus knew his mission. He knew who he loved, and he knew without a doubt who he served. He knew exactly what he needed to do, and it was not to fall victim to the devil and his schemes. You and I are destined to go through things in this life that are tempting and sound great. On the surface they look real, and they look very inviting. However, just like Jesus we must stand our ground without hesitancy. We must be able stand against these things by knowing and using the word of our God in heaven and crush them under our feet. We must not succumb to the ways of this world and turn our backs on our God who is so patient and gracious to us. Our faith must continue to be strong. We must continue to build it to a level that will help us to believe what is unseen and not what is seen. We must compare everything we see and hear to the mighty word of God. His way is the truth and the only truth. It is the only way to heaven and the only way to a life full of joy and love. With an increased pressure from the world each day we must stay strong and never let down. With the Holy Spirit living within us there is no fear that can overcome us. However, we must stay active in God’s word and be doers of his word and not hearers only. We must remember that our God will bless us for enduring testing and temptations from this world. OUR DEVOURING FIRE!

“Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him in holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29

The meaning of a devouring fire means just what it says. It is a fire that utterly consumes or destroys. We are told in Hebrews that God’s Kingdom is unshakable. There is nothing anywhere or at any time that can shake his Kingdom. You and I are to be thankful for his mighty power and all of his truthfulness. We are to worship him in holy fear and awe. We are to give his word and his presence our full attention. To fear him is to obey him. God has provided us with his Holy Spirit that lives in us. We are to listen to him and become determined to carry out his will, no matter the cost. We must understand that we live in a time of grace. Our Lord God in heaven in still willing to forgive us and forget our sins. However, it is also understood that the time of grace is short lived, and he will return and devour and burn all evil, all that is not holy. Our God will only put up with so much. We must remember that he is coming soon and when he does, he will lash out at the evil that surrounds us. Our God is a loving God. He wants us all to be present at his supper table. OUR LIVES ARE TESTIMONIES

“Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says.” James 1:22

“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions.” James 2:14

” Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.” James 2:26

Good works are the result of faith and not faith the result of good works. We sometimes get our thought process confused. Many in the world today believe that if they are good and do good for the rest of the world they will get to heaven. They believe that the better they do the more assurance they will have in getting saved. Salvation does not come from all the good we do in this world. Our Lord tells us that we are saved if we have faith in him. We must humble ourselves before the Lord, repent of our sins, ask for his forgiveness, and then ask that he come and live in our hearts. When that happens, we change. Our thoughts begin to change, and our way of life will change. We are to practice our beliefs and live them each day. Practice makes us better in whatever we decide to do in our lives. Being a Christian is no different. The more we practice the better we get. Our faith life will begin to produce good works. We will begin to love others and want to do good and not evil. As we practice, our faith becomes stronger day by day. We begin to depend upon our Lord God in heaven and believe that we receive. We begin to accept him as our source and not the world itself. So, let us all live the life that our God has allowed us to live, with him in charge and our faith and trust so strong that it will never waver. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

FAITH FOCUS!

“BUT WHEN YOU ASK HIM, BE SURE THAT YOUR FAITH IS IN GOD ALONE. DO NOT WAVER, FOR A PERSON WITH DIVIDED LOYALTY IS AS UNSETTLED AS A WAVE OF THE SEA THAT IS BLOWN AND TOSSED IN THE WIND.” JAMES 1:6

There has never been a time where we need our God more than now. The display of evil toward the Jews and Israel a couple of weeks ago is the beginning of things to come. Our faith is what we are to hold onto. Our faith is to be strong and unwavering. There is no place in our lives for us to be focused on anything but our Lord God in heaven. He is our strength and our everlasting power. You and I are not equipped to face the future alone. We must draw a line in the sand and decide what side we are on, evil or good. We know very well where evil is from and who is the leader. We also know that good comes from those who believe and receive from our Lord God. We must not be afraid to stand for what we believe. We must be able to stand up and shout to all, about our faith and strength in Jesus. God has given us the tools to fight back but we must stay focused, and our focus should be on one person and one person only, Jesus Christ. It is so easy to get distracted and focus on our lives here in this world. Some of us have had easy lives in comparison to others but it doesn’t matter our background, this war with evil will eat us alive if we allow it to. We must stay focused! We must use the tools given us by our God in heaven. We must listen and do as the Holy Spirit directs. We must pray the promises of our God and pray them with faith and not doubt or question. Jesus is our Lord and Savior, and we are prepared for the times to come but our focus must never waver! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS AND EVERY SITUATION!

BUILDING OUR ENDURANCE

“FOR YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOUR FAITH IS TESTED, YOUR ENDURANCE HAS A CHANCE TO GROW.” JAMES 1:3

The term “endurance” is defined as the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.” Jesus and all of those who followed him had their faith tested. They were persecuted and physically tormented at times. Through all of their struggles their faith became stronger each time. With their strong faith they were able to endure everything that was put before them, even death. You and I are no different. We must have a faith that allows us to endure. We must have a trust in our God in heaven that is so strong that we know without question that we are in the hands of our Lord. He will not allow us to go through what we cannot handle. He has given us the precious Holy Spirit who lives in us. Sometimes we forget about the Holy Spirit. He gives us strength, power, guidance, patience and much more. As we tap into his strength, we are able to walk through the shadow of death, the persecutions thrown at us and the physical torment that is in our way. We must stay the course, talk with him and listen very carefully as he directs us. We must remember that the Holy Spirit is not a “thing” but is the “third person” of our God in heaven. We will have troubles but with faith we are able to build our endurance and not waver in our beliefs or way of life. Build your faith daily and endure all difficulties along the way. Remember, there is no fear in love! Perfect love casts out fear. Jesus is that love! John 4:18 PRAISE THE LORD IN AND THROUGH ALL THINGS!

FOLLOW JESUS AND NOT THE WORLD!

” JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER. SO DO NOT BE ATTRACTED BY STRANGE, NEW IDEAS.” HEBREWS 13:8-9

Jesus and his words have never changed. They have been the same since the beginning. The way he lived while upon this earth also has never changed. His love for us is as strong as it ever was. We live in a world where many want to live their own way. They want to do things in their own way but not be accountable for them. There are those in this world who have taken God’s word and twisted and turned words around, even so slightly, to help them to feel better about their lifestyles and the way they live. You and I must be very careful. It is important that we do a back check on every word spoken and action taken. We should know God’s word thoroughly and be able to know when someone or something is not lining up with the way God intended. We should know the exact way God wants us to live our lives and then watch the ways of others to see how they live and speak. We need to study God’s Word and pray for every piece of understanding we can. Hebrews tells us that we are to be alert and watchful and steady on the path God has prepared for us, as he has never changed. We are to follow him and not the ways of others. SEEING THEIR FAITH

“Seeing their faith Jesus said to the man, ‘ MY CHILD, YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN.’ ” Mark 2:5

It is so important that we show our faith before others. We may say that we believe in God’s healing power and his strength but how do we live our lives? Do we live in faith or do we live in fear and doubt. Sometimes we need to take a step back and take a good hard look at how we speak and live our lives. What characteristics are we displaying to those around us. Our faith is more than just words. Our faith should be put into action and become the way that we live talk. We must understand and believe that our God is with us always and his plan is to protect us and bring us through our troubles, sorrows and our weak times. His way may not be the way we think things should turn out, but we must continue to trust his word and his promises. We must trust in the ways he takes in our lives and not try to take shortcuts that are put before us. Sometimes our situations seem unbearable and unresolvable, but they are not. In our world today we are indoctrinated to do things quickly. Our society is fast paced. We are always on the go. With God we sometimes need to slow down and listen. We need to know the plan before we jump into the fire. Sometimes we need to display our faith before God and show that we are trusting and faithful. We must pray always and meditate upon his word. He loves us, and we are to love others in the same way. Live your life with the Lord in charge! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!

THE FAITH WE BUILD UPON

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1

” And it is impossible to please God without faith.” Hebrews 11:6

Our faith is the one element that is vital and necessary for a true relationship with Christ. We cannot believe and have a relationship with Jesus unless we have faith that he is real. None of us have seen him but we accept him because our faith allows us to. We have a strong confidence that Jesus actually came to this world and died for us. With that faith we are able to not only believe but we are able to trust in his words. That same faith that you and I have in Jesus is allowed to work in other areas of our lives. Our faith allows us to have the assurance for healing of our bodies, minds and souls. Our faith allows us to heal relationships and to walk through dark times with confidence and not fear. Our faith allows us to stand before the world talking about our God and his saving grace. It impossible to please God without faith. Each time we read the bible our faith becomes stronger. Each time we recite a scripture our faith becomes stronger. Each time we pray our faith becomes stronger. We are to continue to build upon our faith each day with one small brick at a time. There is only one way to eternal life! That way is Jesus! PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!

What are you most proud of in your life?

HOLD ON TIGHTLY!

“Let us hold on tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” Hebrews 10:23

“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36

The world today is in total confusion. We are in the last days with the devil and his army throwing everything they have at those who love the Lord our God. They are doing all that they can to defeat our God and to take as many people as possible to hell with them. This great war is a spiritual war that has been taking place over thousands of years. As it spews over into creation, we as children of God must have a faith and a trust in our Lord God that is unwavering. We must not allow anyone or anything to tear us from the arms of our loving God in heaven. We must hold on tightly and continue to believe that our Lord is in the midst of his plan. We must continue to build upon the faith that we have so that when these evil things happen, we are prepared to pray and to stand in the face of danger with God’s word in our hands. We must be so strong that death does not scare us. We must be so strong that we are able to use the word of God against the devil and all of the evil of the world. We must study, meditate and pray continually. We must be patient and endure what lies ahead of us knowing that God’s promises never fail. When we do, we will receive what he has promised. CONSTRUCTING OUR FAITH

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.” Psalm 23:4

Most of us are very familiar with the 23rd Psalm. We hear it a lot at funerals. It gives us comfort in our time of sorrow and sadness. However, this Psalm is not just for our sorrow and our sadness. It is also for us in our times of fear, stress, anger, and failure. It provides the security in all of our times of need and reminds us that our Lord is beside us. He is leading us and will never let us down. It also helps us to build upon our faith. It is a promise, a security blanket, and gives us a sense of strength in our lives. It allows us to walk through times that we would otherwise not be able to do. It provides us the opportunity to trust in God and his Word. You and I are not perfect, no matter how hard we try, and we are not strong. But with the promises God provides through his scriptures we are able to faithfully follow and trust in his perfection and strength. We can do all things through Christ who provides us strength. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. Each time we read from scripture we are building our faith. Each time we pray we are building our faith. Each time we praise our God in heaven we are building our faith. We are surrounded by strength, love and wisdom and knowledge. Let us all have the faith to grasp onto it and never let go! WORDS VS DEEDS

” THEY PRAISE ME TO MY FACE BUT CURSE ME IN THEIR HEARTS.” PSALM 62:4

Words are so easy to come by. They are very easy to say. It is important that we understand that the world today is focused upon itself, and those who are of the world are focused upon themselves. People will sometimes say anything to get their way. They will spew out words of praise before us when in reality they dislike us or even hate us. We sometimes make the mistake of listening to words and taking them for what they are. Words can be loving, praising, caring and helpful, or they can be hateful and hurtful. They can be the truth, or they can be lies. They can be misinterpreted and taken for something they really are not. When we are dealing with others it is important that we watch the tree itself. We should see what kind of fruit the tree is producing. Is it saying one thing but living a life that is quite contrary? It is how we live that shows the world who we are. We must be strong and be able to stand up for what we believe. We must stand up with great faith and trust in our God in heaven. We must ask and trust our Lord to help us to discern our way through this world. He will help us to work our way through the jungle of life. He loves us and will never abandon us. When you think of the word “successful,” who’s the first person that comes to mind and why?

BE GENTLE

Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change these people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:25

Jesus was gentle. He was loving and caring in all that did, yet he was firm with the truth. We are to pattern ourselves, our words, and our actions after our Savior. We are to know his word, tell his word and display his way of life. He did not run around as though he was out of control. Jesus was always in control. He was wise and knew what to say before he said it. You and I are to be the same. We should pray and ask for his help. We should ask for his wisdom and his understanding. He will give it freely and we should accept it and take time to digest it before we speak. When dealing with others it is important that we know the situation and exactly what we are dealing with before we step in. We must be prepared with God’s word and his protection, power and strength. Without him by our side we will fail. We should remember the 7 sons of Sceva. They attempted to exercise a demon from a man in the town of Ephesus by using the name of Jesus by invocation. Instead of the demon leaving the man they are overcome, beat up and forced to leave the house naked. They were not prepared. They thought that all they needed was the method and the name of Jesus, instead of having the use of the spiritual power of God. Let us all be wise and prayed up. Jesus loves us and we are to love and represent him. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
