As each day passes it seems the next day passes even faster. Time seems to be moving at lightning speed and faster than ever before. In this new year of 2025 so many things have happened. It is like a train that starts out slowly and then continues to gain speed until it reaches its ultimate goal. Things in today’s world are passing quickly by our eyes. Things are happening so fast that we are not given a chance to wonder and ponder the things that have happened. There have been great hurricanes that have taken lives and misplaced families from their homes. There have been wildfires that have also taken lives and been so destructive that the landscape gives the impression a bomb has hit the area. There have been plane crashes and wars, drones flying overhead, great floods and other events around the world that cannot be explained. Because of all of the things taking place, it is sometimes hard to live our lives in a normal state. It sometimes feels surreal and as though we are visiting a different time or place. It hurts us to see so many around the world suffer from these disasters. As we watch the events of the world, it becomes easy to become worried and weakened within our own minds, and our lives become affected. It is in these moments that we must take time to draw ourselves back into the arms of Jesus. It is time to remember that no matter what is happening in this world that we are protected by our Lord and Savior. He reminds us in Luke 4:8; “You must worship the Lord your God; serve only him.” Our God also reminds us that we are to be aware of our surroundings and be prudent in what we do. He refers to this in Proverbs 27:12 when he says, “A Prudent person foresees the danger ahead and takes precautions.” We cannot take precautions if we don’t know what to do. If we stay connected to our worldly ways, we will become overwhelmed with fear and doubt. However, by taking a step back, praying consistently to our God in heaven, reading and meditating on his Word daily, and taking time to listen to the Holy Spirit, we will be able to stay close to him and better understand our assignments. It is time to come back to Jesus. It is time to focus on Him and not the happenings of the world. When we do, we will be able live lives that will help others through these terrible disasters. PRAISE THE LORD THROUGH ALL THINGS!
