It is often hard to recognize which direction we are headed in life. We are surrounded at birth by the things of the world, and we grow up reflecting many of the worldly characteristics we are familiar with. We all come from different backgrounds and experiences and reflect those experiences in the way we speak and the actions we take. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior our ways of life are to change. We are to reflect a new way of life. We are to begin to show others our change. As a child we may have been brought up as a Methodist, Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist or some other denomination. We learned of Jesus and of his ways. However, when we accept Christ, our relationship goes even deeper. We now have a personal relationship with him. We know him on a completely deeper level than ever before. We are to live our lives among others in a much different way. 1 Peter 2:12 tells us; “Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world.” It becomes easy to drift back into some of our old ways when we get around those who think differently than we do. It is easy to take our eyes off of the Lord and focus on other things. The Lord teaches us to look to him for all things. He reminds us that it is he is our source. He is our source of all worldly things. It is He! When things don’t always go our way, we must be reminded of our source, we must always remember that God in never late, he is always right on time. He will always come through, but it will be on his time schedule and not on ours. We sometimes become impatient with our situations, or we may become bashful about being a Christian. It is at these times that we should pray and praise our Lord asking him for his help. It is in these time that we should pick up the bible and begin to read and meditate. We should never run away from God. We should never completely depend on the things around us for help, as this world will always fail us. But it is our God in heaven who is dependable and will never ever fail us! When we run from him and depend upon things of the world, our lives become so much more complex. When we run to him, he picks us up and our problems then become his. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL THINGS!
