“Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” ROMANS 4:3
TODAY’S MESSAGE: Abraham was a good man. He was not evil but was just as human as you and me. You and I, just as Abraham, try to do things the right way but we sometimes slip up. We occasionally fall and need help. Just as we make mistakes in life we also do good things in life. However, scripture tells us that doing good things alone is not enough to make us righteous before God. Romans 4:3 allows us to see that faith is where the gold is. Abraham was considered to be in right standing with God because of his faith. He had built a faith that aided him in believing what God told him. Because he believed, not allowing doubt to stand in his way, he became obedient and his faith continued to get stronger and stronger. You could say that he sold out to God. Being faithful is not easy. We must begin with small things and work our way up to believing for the larger problems. We must avoid becoming discouraged. We must allow ourselves to be successful in our faith walk. Just as Abraham, we too, must understand that it is not because we do good things in life that allows us to become righteous before God. Instead it is because of our faith which allows us to be obedient to His Holy Word. God is with us in all things. We can do everything through strong faith in him. It is not whether our Lord can help us but whether we allow him to. PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL SITUATIONS!
